This year, Thanksgiving will be unlike any we’ve ever had. We’re living through unusual and trying times. The COVID-19 pandemic caused a lot of pain, suffering, and despair all around us. Yet, despite the pandemic, we have much to be thankful for amidst tumultuous times.
Thanksgiving helped us focus on what giving thanks really means; what we have to be grateful for, and how we can live a life of gratitude. Expressing gratitude is an American tradition. By giving thanks, we help others feel appreciated and remind ourselves of how fortunate we are.
Focusing on silver linings. Counting our blessings. Stopping to smell the roses. There are a multitude of reasons to live life like its golden.
In line with our mission to spread love and appreciation, Living Life Like Its Golden held its very first Thanksgiving Basket on November 22, 2020. Latrell Guess, Nikisha Williams, Thelma Cannon, and Netra Burrell went from door-to-door and brought a thanksgiving basket full of love to the beautiful women that deserves all the love and care.
These baskets served as a reminder to our beneficiaries that they are appreciated. This simple gesture is a reminder to all the beautiful and brave women of Houston that gratitude is a temporary emotion, but giving is a lasting value. That whatever storms they are going through, they will emerge victorious and stronger than ever.
Rainbows always come after the rain; and when they do, we are reminded to be grateful, to start giving ourselves to others, and to live life like its golden.
